Sly and the Family Stone Dust Off 'What's That Got to Do With Me'
Funk group unveil old recording of Jim and Jean track
Sly and the Family Stone are celebrating their career – and Sly Stone's 70th birthday – with the new anthology collection Higher!, out August 27th. To mark the release, the influential funk group dug deep into their vaults for mono single masters and old, rare recordings. Here, you can get an exclusive listen to Sly and the Family Stone's take on the track "What's That Got to Do With Me," originally by Jim and Jean.
Best Summer Songs of All Time: Sly and the Family Stone, 'Hot Fun in the Summertime'
"What's That Got to Do With Me" was originally released in February 1967; that July, Sly and the Family Stone were hard at work recording their debut, A Whole New Thing. Stone simply enjoyed the track, and the band set out to work on their own version. Jim and Jean's original featured gentle piano tickles and sweetly swinging drums, but the funk and soul masters inject excited energy into the track with wailing horns and soaring harmonies.
Higher! features 77 tracks – 18 of which are previously unreleased – that span four CDs, as well as an illustrated 100 page book.
Toshi Seeger, Wife of Pete Seeger, Dead at 91
Activist was a cornerstone in husband's success
Toshi-Aline Ohta Seeger, the wife of folk music legend Pete Seeger, has died at the age of 91, reports Billboard.
Ohta Seeger was an activist and organizer and has long been credited as a foundational figure in her husband's success.
Video: Pete Seeger Live
"Without Toshi's counsel and support, and always outspoken and direct opinions, it's clear to anyone who ever met these two remarkable people that, without Toshi, Pete would never have had the foundation and freedom to do the work that made him so legendary," said Sing Out, a magazine she and Seeger helped cofound in 1950.
She was born in Munich to an American mother and Japanese father, and the family relocated to the U.S. before her first birthday. She grew up in New York, where she met Seeger, and the couple married in 1943 when she was 21.
Ohta Seeger was a woman of influence who played a key programming role for the Great Hudson River Revival. She was aware of talented artists "long before they were on most people's radar, even before most of the members of the Festival planning committee had heard of, say, Tracy Chapman," said Persimmon Tree's Sue Leonard.
She was also involved in film. Her 1966 film "Afro-American Work Songs in a Texas Prison" is based on prisoners chopping trees and singing their traditional songs; it is in the Library of Congress archives.
Ohta Seeger died on July 9th, nine days short of what would have been hers and Seeger's 70th wedding anniversary.
Very slow site speed
Made some backend changes (most notably, web traffic isn't being routed through the old load balancers any longer)... I think the load balancers may have been getting overloaded, so they are no longer in use.

Microsoft says to work as 'single company' after overhaul
(Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said it will deliver multiple devices and services as a single company, rather than a collection of separate divisions, after completing its first major overhaul in five years.
As part of the company's reorganization, Kurt DelBene, president of the Microsoft Office division, will retire, Microsoft said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
Microsoft's last major reorganization was in July 2008, when Chief Executive Steve Ballmer split the company's 'Platforms & Services Division' into three separate units - Windows, Online Services and Server and Tools.

Please Review My Website!
I know its not all your fault, but your whole website is in a frame which navigates to this page here: http://americanenglish4all.wix.com/mormonflix and the code-behind is just horrific, but then that's what you get with free builders.
My advise? Don't waste your time with a free web builder, your time would be far better invested if you learnt to do it all yourself. Skills for life!

Viral Marketing Methods
I understand everything about mascots. They are great. Take hostgator, for instance, they have a gator with cool shades basking in the sun. The motto says: We eat up the competition.
Here's an example of agility and boisterousness and yet calm, sure power - all at the same time. Instant trust.
Your mascot represents some sort of geekiness wrapped in a capo. When I see it, I can't help thinking about The Big Bang Theory show. I don't think you want your service to be associate with a couch potato, who happens to be a geek and who pictures himself as a superman. What would make it even funnier, if you put this motto underneath: Competition, here I come!
I know it's not your intent to make people think/feel that way, but that's what is going to happen (at least for some).
By the way, I am not trying to be insulting or anything like here. I am sorry if I come across as very straightforward. You don't have to listen to me, but I believe if you're serious about your service and want it to have a competitive edge in the years to come, you should start thinking competitively, seeing a bigger picture.
Need Unlimited Host
seriously, unlimited doesnt exist. Going for unlimited will place tighter restrictions then going for a limited service.
for example, one popular host offers unlimited everything, but then has secret 1000 table limit, so essentially only 3 websites max as installations such as joomla use 300+ tables. others can have such tight inode limits that using just 500mb can hit the limits.
my advice, find one that offers what you need, not one that pretends to offer everything, and gives you nothing.
Oh, and one final piece of advice. I just took over a company that was selling "unlimited" for 15 years. the guy told me that anyone that reached 1gb hdd was instantly kicked out (no refund either). Now that I took over, i placed everyone on 2gb limit, it is DOUBLE what they had before, yet noone is happy as they still think that before they had unlimited.
I have been in and around webhosting takeover for 2 years now, and there are some unlimited providers, that kicked out users at 500mb hdd (no refund) others terminate anyone that has 2 backups of their accounts (hostgator does this for one) they do this as a way of keeping HDD usage down.
so good luck.
Why posts in ''Introductions'' section doesn't count as a post
DP has lots of members. One or few of them may offer job and good position in a company. The first thing they want to check is how great that person in term of skills and attitude. So, what do you think they will check? Off course our profile.
It is best to keep message count as low as possible and write only if it necessary or bring value to others. That way, people would think positive about us and DP will be better forum for anyone.
Last, I'm glad 'Introduction' didn't count our chat. It is used to welcome the other and what do you think the value of welcoming newly registered member for all existing member in this forum?

Pro enough?
I want to create a search option on my website.
The site doesn't realy need one but i like to have te option for people who like to search on my site using een engine.
Is a "Google custom search" button pro enough for a quality website?
Doesn't it look a bit unprofessional?
Kind regards,
Mxl
How to get more organic traffics with off page?
For example directory submission in a few quality health-related directories, submit your website to OTHER directory and try not to tell about what you are going to SELL!
Article marketing... well, it could work if you write about general health and try to tell about a way to do something with health for example (for people to be healthy) or something like this...
Forum marketing, I don't think it will work.
Blog commenting, with 3 words -> DON'T USE IT! Social Boomarking, most websites will NOT accept your website.
Social Media... You could get your website and even account banned -> so NOT recommened.
Hope I helped!

*Best Answers* Let's Open It Up.
Why not? I saw in the SEO forum people are grateful for your help.
But really it's like a democracy, do people really know a good answer when they would rather best answer what they want to hear?
The Nazi party was a democracy and they we're wonderful with who they gave their voting power to eh!
At the other end Robert Mugabi the same.
Sure, it has no real meaning, but it's nice to know if your post has been helpful to the OP and that's useful for people who can't give likes yet either.
Well, actually, really what's most important for SEO
I found that sadly the only way to beat those gaming the system is to fly very close to the edge sometimes in order to beat them. Partly as SE's and their spiders are quite stupid in many ways tbh.
I really shouldn't post at near bedtime when tired LOL.
Anyone know how to fix a dyslexic keyboard btw?
