Based just to the East of Birmingham City Centre, this 'Outstanding' Secondary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding University Graduate to the role of Teaching Assistant, supporting within their Maths Department. Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be to start immediately, on a full time, long term contract, for the remainder of the academic year (August 2014).
The School is located in Yardley, Birmingham, and can be found surrounded by excellent public transport links including: Several bus stops, going in and out of the City Centre and various directions, a short 10 minuet walk to the train station, again offering different routes, which makes your journey easily commutable. As the successful Teaching Assistant, you will also be offered an onsite car parking space, which is based on a large, secure site, should you choose to drive to work.
Senior management at the school provide excellent leadership and direction to pupils and staff. Staff at the school are extremely supportive and welcoming. The school has developed an ethos of hard work, with all staff and pupils pulling in the same direction to ensure that the high standards and expectations that are set are achieved.
In your role as a Teaching Assistant, will be required to embrace this ethos, learn from the staff around you, and utilise your own initiative to provide excellent support in small groups and an a 1:1 basis with pupils. You will be solely working in the Maths Department across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, supporting pupils who are gifted and talented and also those pupils who require extra support to reach expected.
The school went through an Ofsted inspection in late 2012, achieving a grade of 'Outstanding', with the Maths Department also been graded as 'Outstanding'. All members of staff at the school are extremely proud of achieving this result. As the successful Teaching Assistant, you will need to have a great work ethic, fantastic communication and be dedicated to motivating pupils developing both their learning, as well as your own. You will be supported throughout your time at the school, with fantastic support and guidance being given to you by the excellent Headteacher and Head of Maths.
