Queens of the Stone Age frontman also talks potential '...Like Clockwork' sequel
Josh Homme and Alex Turner have quite the musical friendship brewing. Turner, frontman for English indie-rock band Arctic Monkeys, contributed lyrics and vocals to Queens of the Stone Age's sixth album . . . Like Clockwork, and Homme sings on the Monkeys' upcoming AM.

Homme spoke to NME about the collaboration last weekend at the Czech Republic's Rock For People festival, calling AM "a really cool, sexy after-midnight record. It's called AM, so I guess that's really obvious. And it's really good." When asked whether the two of them went out dancing in Turner's native Sheffield, Homme said, "No, but I'm OK with that!"
AM is the Arctic Monkeys' fifth album and is due for release on September 9th.
Homme also ruminated on a potential . . . Like Clockwork follow-up. "One of the coolest things about doing this is to surprise people," he said. "It's to come out of nowhere. The music world is almost like just a huge dark backdrop, and you wait for something shiny to come out that you wanna hold onto. And it's gone so quickly." He also noted that he'd prefer to balance out the brooding . . . Like Clockwork with something "much happier."
